Yesterday, as I pulled out of my driveway to go visit Peyton's grave, I noticed just how awful and overgrown I've allowed our front garden to get, having neglected it (among many other things) these past several months.
I guess I stopped caring about how things looked at about this time...
This summer has been very rainy and gray, allowing the weeds to sort of take over the entire area. I suppose, with all that has been going on, I just sort of hadn't noticed.
and then hopped away.
I can't say that I blame him. Seeing what our gardens had become made me want to turn and walk away too. I took this as a sign that something needed to be done...
It's not much...
Ah, your pictures really help tell your story. The flowers are beautiful. Peace.
ReplyDeleteI like the yellow flowers you chose. You have a beautiful big garden, complete with cute rabbits!
ReplyDeleteThe daffodils are beautiful. {{{Hugs}}}
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful garden and rabbit.
ReplyDeleteI love flowers. Of any kind. So fragrant, so beautiful, I touch the petals softly, adoring each one. Your garden is beautiful. Even the weeds. Mrs. Rabbit will be back, with a BIG grin on her cute little lips!
ReplyDeleteSnooty bunny.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you, though.
I too don't think the appearance of things is as important since losing my girls. The flowers you planted look great, watch for the bunny now, she will probably be back!
ReplyDeleteI've also neglected my garden. Amongst other things. It's hard to care about all this stuff, about anything really.
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely and cheerful with those bright daffies. Thinking of you and your beautiful Peyton. (((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteBeautiful garden. I agree with Tami. Mrs. Rabbit will surely be back.
ReplyDeleteI neglected my flowers beds. I've only pulled weeds a couple times and I didn't plant any flowers. I only had my perennials. I'm so glad hubby has helped me do a lot of the work to the beds this year. And for one year I am glad that they make weed killer.
ReplyDeleteI wish the rabbit had come to my house. I want a rabbit. Speaking of visiting Peyton's grave makes me want to go see my son. Pics are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSalma
I think bunny was cute and the flowers are beautiful :-)
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are beautiful. xx
ReplyDeleteLove the story and its illustrations! Beautiful! Looks like progress to me!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and wanted to tell you how beautiful Peyton is. I lost my son on the 24th of last month so I am just beginning my walk in grief. I am sorry to hear about your loss and I hope you wont mind my following your blog as it seems to help me cope with my loss, reading others stories. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThe daffodils look beautiful, and every step forward, no matter how small, is still a step forward.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the web lesson over on my blog ;-)
Wascally wabbit! I'm sure he'll return :). I bet you get some nice songbirds where you live, too.
ReplyDeleteI love your flowers. Nice, bright yellow, the color of creativity. Yard and garden work is always tiresome but when you look at what you've accomplished, every minute of effort is always worth it. And it gives back so much to you.
I'm considering planting seeds for my first herb garden, maybe in late September :).
I am passing on an Honest Scrap Award to you because your writing has resonated with me and I admire your honesty. Check it out on my blog and pass it on....
ReplyDeleteI'm also passing the Honest Scrap award to you. :)
